About the Internship:
The iNicosia project is transforming urban planning and design with its cutting-edge digital twin of Nicosia. As a Unity and/or Unreal Engine Engineer intern, you'll play a pivotal role in developing immersive visualizations, simulations, and integrations within the digital twin platform. Dive into the world of computer vision, programming, and AR/VR concepts as you collaborate with industry experts to bring the digital twin to life.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in computer vision, programming languages such as Python/C++/C#/Java, databases, and AR/VR concepts.
- Knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine for developing immersive experiences and simulations.
- Experience with integration methodologies and working with geospatial systems.
- Passion for pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation in urban planning.
Level of Required Skills:
- Understanding of digital twins and smart cities use cases.
- Experience in visualizations and simulations using game engines such as Unity and/or Unreal Engine.
- Ability to integrate third-party systems and databases using WebServices/RestAPIs.
- Familiarity with geospatial systems hosting the data of the digital twin.
Internship Objectives:
- Conceptualize and visualize urban areas through immersive 3D modeling.
- Develop the digital twin geospatial platform using Cesium, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
- Enhance the 3D urban model of Nicosia as a comprehensive database resource.
- Create augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) visualizations based on available data.
- Foster large-scale integrations with partners and stakeholders to drive innovation.
