About the Internship:
The iNicosia project is revolutionizing urban planning and design with its innovative digital twin of Nicosia. As an intern, you'll play a crucial role in assisting the iNicosia Project Team with a variety of tasks, including participation in drone flights, terrestrial laser scanning operations, data collection, and 3D visualization. Get ready to work alongside industry experts and gain hands-on experience in the cutting-edge field of urban modeling and geospatial technology.
Required Skills:
- Participation in daily drone flights as a Remote Pilot and Terrestrial Laser Scanning Operator.
- Ensure equipment readiness for daily flights and scanning operations.
- Collection and storage of data for further processing on various software.
- Preparation of weekly reports summarizing flight activities and collected data.
- Support with 3D visualization and representation of data using various software tools.
- Assistance with other day-to-day tasks for digitalizing collected data.
Level of Required Skills: Applicants must be undergraduate or postgraduate students, or early career individuals within two years of graduation. Non-EU applicants may require entry visa and/or work authorization.
Internship Objectives:
- Conceptualize and visualize urban areas in 3D models.
- Enhance the 3D urban model of Nicosia as a comprehensive database resource.
- Create augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) visualizations based on available data.
- Foster large-scale integrations with partners and stakeholders.
- Develop the digital twin geospatial platform using industry-leading tools such as Cesium, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
